All eyes are set on Mobile World Congress (#MWC2012), Europe's largest exhibition for the mobile industry that will kick off tomorrow in Barcelona, Spain. This is the venue where most mobile companies show off their latest phones and tablets, where their innovations gets demonstrated. We have a couple of things to expect from the event.Yes your read it right, quad-core chips on smartphones and tablets. This is not totally new as ASUS have released the first quad-core tablet last year. We will be seeing more quad-core goodness in MWC.
Ice Cream Sandwich, the codename for Android 4.0 was announced last year and we saw it running smoothly on the Galaxy Nexus. Expect to see a slew of new devices packed with this latest version of Android in MWC.
2. Alternative smartphone operating systems

Mozilla's Boot 2 Gecko mobile OS
We have seen Android growing and spurting over the years, especially in 2011. While it continues doing so, Nokia will be pushing out new Windows 7 handsets in addition to the Lumia family. That aside, Mozilla is bringing out their mobile OS - Boot 2 Gecko, which is based on Linux. The OS is reportedly making its debut on an LG device.
3. More Android Tablets!

While the iPad 3 will be announced in March, we will see several new Android tablets from Samsung, HTC, Lenovo and ASUS, among others.
