This morning the news program on TV was showing this "Steve Jobs 1955-2011".
I was very shocked that it happened so sudden, barely a day after the announcement of Apple's new iPhone (though he wasn't there). There is a photo of him 2 months after his resignation at Apple, and he looked really weak then. Blame that cancer he has been battling for years.

Do rest in peace, Stevie. :'(

His last stage appearance was during the introduction of iOS 5. He unveiled the iPad 2 three months before that in March. Video below:

There, Apple has announced the new iPhone 4S. It shares the same body design as the old iPhone 4, but what is new is the inside. Almost everything in the iPhone 4S is two times its predecessor. Look at the comparison table below:

Unlike how rumours suggest it as a low-cost phone, the iPhone 4S is a 'premium' model among the iPhones. This pushes down the old iPhone 4 which is now considered 'midrange'.

Hola Octobre,
my alarm has successfully waken me up today (finally), after several failed attempts.

Happening at this hour tomorrow (1 a.m. Malaysian Time) is Apple's "Let's talk iPhone" event where, obviously the announcement of a (few) new iPhone(s) will be made. It will be taking place at Apple's HQ in Cupertino, led by Apple's new CEO - Tim Cook.

As you can see on Apple's invitation picture, the calendar says October 4, clock says 10:00, map points to Apple's campus, and the phone icon shows one phone call. Specific.

Currently nobody knows which iPhone will be unveiled, be it the all-new iPhone 5 or the budget iPhone 4S, or even both. But, what is for sure (or maybe not) is the announcement of a new feature called Assistant (iAssistant?).

I live with Apple rumours from the day i got on to Twitter, and I find myself giving them more attention than ever, somehow. Though some rumours may sound outright ridiculous, others come from credible source and i am pretty sure Apple do pay a close attention to them.

Heard of E3 before? (Perhaps you have seen me spamming it on twitter, heh)

E3 is short for Electronic Entertainment Expo. It is a gaming convention held annually and serves as a major event for the gaming industry. For this year the event is attended by many top companies like: EA, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo etc.

Earlier today, Sony unveiled the successor of PSP - PlayStation Vita (previously called the New Generation Portable). Of all names they chose "Vita", because it means life. Somehow reminds me of Vitagen.

It comes packed with a few promising features:
- 4x of the resolution of PSP,

- 5 inch OLED touch screen,

- Motion sensors,

- Front and rear cameras

- 3G and Wi-Fi capable.

Red Bull Speed Street @ Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

This time around Red Bull organized the Speed Street event over here in Malaysia. The event took place at Bukit Bintang street, situated right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. This is the very first time a Formula One car is being driven in the city of Kuala Lumpur and the driver is no other than the legendary David Coulthard.

I went there with my brother by train, our usual way of getting down to the city. We reached the place a couple of minutes before the event started and the crowd there was HUGE. We managed to pick a good spot though.

David Coulthard kicked off the show by taking the Red Bull RB7 out to the street for a warm up run. The roaring engine sound was really deafening as both sides of the street are shopping malls which adds on the echoing effect. The crowd cheered as David did a short sprint to one end and did his stuff. The coolest part has to be the Doughnuts and burnouts where you get to smell the burning rubberr!

After that Alex Yoong took the Audi R8 LMS out for a spin.

Meh. 4 hours of concert is long and I am enough of managing it!
Did check out the auditorium's PA room but did not use it because of some cable management problem. Nooooooo
But still, I learned how to use the "freeze" function on the projector, and also gained the experience in multitasking presentations while putting up songs on the same system. Lots of planning and concentration needed :D

Just last month at Mobile World Congress Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Then, Apple's iPad 2 raised the bar for ergonomics and performance. Not wanting to be outdone by it, Samsung just announced a redesigned Galaxy Tab 10.1 that's both thinner and lighter than Apple's iPad 2.
At the same time, they brought along a surprise - an 8.9 inch Galaxy Tab.

From what we can see here, the hardware specs between the 10.1 and 8.9 remain the same, the only difference is the screen size. The 8.9-inch screen comes with 1200x800 resolution, likewise on the 10.1 but with lower pixel density. With the thickness of 8.6 mm (thinner than the iPad 2 by 0.2mm), it is the thinnest tablet in the market today and it weighs just 470 g, which automatically makes it lighter than the iPad 2. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). It has Full HD video playback capability, video chat option, 2MP camera up front and a 5MP camera with flash at the back which can record 720p HD videos.

On this unique date my birthday coincides with a very solemn day for Japan, as the country was struck by a massive 8.8-8.9 earthquake which was followed by a merciless tsunami. Debris, boats, cars, and planes were strewn into the inland like play toys. As the ground continues to shake, reports started pouring in that many were missing. The death toll also started to increase. The world was worried, sad, and most importantly, sorry for Japan.

Many have been trying for hours to reach their family and friends in Japan but the mobile networks have been taken down by the quake. They were advised to use the internet and free up the phone lines for emergency and rescue purposes. Even Google has reacted to the disaster with a Person Finder tool. People worried about their loved ones can look them up by name while the site updates its data continously. For the entire day, words like #prayforjapan and #tsunami have been on the top trending topic in the twitterverse.

This earthquake is so strong that aftershocks were expected to reach at least 20 countries situated around the Pacific basin. The Malayian Meteorological Department had earlier issued a warning that our east coasts may be slightly affected also. The least we can do for Japan now is to pray for them.

Nowadays it's hardly able to spot the reliable "MADE IN JAPAN" word on products which would usually convince us in buying it. ~~What if, we wouldn't get to see them anymore in the next few years?~~

Look ma, a broadband modem!

Having my first broadband modem was like a bird being released from a cage(?). It doesn't matter if you don't understand because neither do i or will i. What i'm trying to say is that you can surf the net on the go, whether in a car travelling or having a drink at a nearby mamak. heh. Using one is convenient but also depends heavily on the coverage in your area. Broadband modems like this also have a weakness as their signal is easily affected by thick walls and electronic devices placed nearby. My W1GGY modem is working fine so far and i am figuring out the best way to use up the 4GB of data(which is free) in 20 days.

My bro and I(well, more of my bro) have been busy setting up our new computer(we call it rig)lately, which we at first doubt will be up and running by end of this year. The parts are more or less in place and should be ready by tomorrow, just in time for the new year!

For now i'll post up some photos for preview before having the full post later.

hey guys, its been a while since I've last updated. My updates have been always kept short..but, maybe not after the next 3 weeks :D This is da first time I'm blogging using the HTC I got since 2 weeks ago. I'm havin the urge to *throw* my thoughts out here. Anyway I may be doing a review on the so-called HTC smartphone after PMR. I took the 2 weeks holidays for granted which could have made me better prepared for the exams. I hate you distractions. :(

Personally I loathe those countdown stuffs but I saw one on FB just now. So, 15 more days to PMR..and pre-PMR paper will be starting tomorrow. Sigh, time zooms really fast. Kays I better catch some sleep now as the clock is already showing 3:37a.m. :O

After more than three months of 'patience-testing', my buddy is finally together with me. She could not come to me so i had to go over and pick her up. After parking at Pavillion KL, i rushed to the opposite and went up to the 28th floor...and i met her! in a plastic bag .__.

okay okay..i have received my ASUS UL30vt notebook today. The one which i had been told that i have won some *@&$!#..very long time ago. It now sits on my desk quietly as it gets charged properly. It has more storage space than what i saw on the website. Instead of just 320GB, it is 500GB! That's splendid. I can 'dump' all the movies..songs..games..and all kinda stuff inside :D

aww man, i was on the way to KL to collect my ASUS lappy when the person called up to have me collect it only on Monday. Sigh, anyway i went on to collect other prizes - 2 mini Adidas balls from 7-Eleven. They are actually size 0, yang kecil punya haha..

and..two days ago i went to watch StreetDance, the non-3D version. This movie is seriously EPIC. They actually combined street dance and ballet together, so yeah you can imagine that. But there's something interesting about it..Diversity, British Got Talent's winner starred in this movie as the UK street dance champion, or something like that i can't remember.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

I had a weird feeling when watching the movie with my family last night. Everybody was preparing for the mid term exam and i was not.

Okay anyway, I got 4 preview passes for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time from Top Gear Malaysia. The preview screening was at Cathay Cineplex and screening time was 9.30pm, so we had to rush over after bro came back from school. Pity my sis did not get enough sleep last night as she had add maths exam today.

The only thing i like in the movie is the ancient dagger which has to be filled with some kind of sand, in able to reverse time. With the title from the game, the movie has a pretty interesting storyline with ostrich races and parkour stunts. Unlike movies based on video games that don't really go far, this one is much much recommendable to watch.

One, through DIRECT INJECTION into your veins, and second, you breathe in through the mist produced by Venom's nebulizer(pic below). Man, this thing is evil.

According to the website, it says that there's only ONE EASY STEP.

You just need to inject the needle into the veins, or you may want to use the nebulizer.

RayCity SEA (OBT)

Launched only less than a week ago(open beta test), many have reached level 20+ in this game RayCitySEA. On the first day of launch last week, i've tested it out and it feels more like a taxi game than a racing game to me. Most of the mission you have to do is basically taxi-ing people here and there, customers are of all ages from small li'l kid to old man. Like any other racing/car games, there are customizable cars, upgradeable performance parts, guilds, parties, quests and other features. The highest level in the game has been capped to 29 since its only a beta test.
Had much fun today, GM got into the same room i was 4 times in a row. So, there's my acc -IERNK.

look at the keyboard, it is made mainly for children as it has a layout which is in alphabetical order (A-Z) instead of the conventional QWERTY order. Fortunately, with the press of a button the normal QWERTY layout can be used too. At the top of the keyboard if you had observed carefully, its buttons are equipped with acronyms such as ASAP, BRB, LOL and others to add convenience in instant messaging.

My say: Introducing a keyboard with A-Z order is really crazy. We are thought to type in QWERTY order as its the common or i should say the only layout that the world uses now. With this company introducing this keyboard which is more for the younger generation, it makes them dumber in typing. Just imagine if a kid uses this keyboard since he was 4 and got used to the A-Z order for few years, when he goes to school one day he'll definitely have trouble typing. And one more thing, the acronym buttons are making people lazier. Why not just type out 3 letters - L O L ?

man i am so in love with it! costing at RM1.2mil this beast comes with a screaming high pitched V10 engine and achieves a top speed of 326km/h! its just like a Ferrari or Lamborghini's performance. I am not good at describing this car but it has a 'evilish' 'coolish' look =]

2 more years to come and i will be driving already. Of course, not this beast, definitely not a kancil, but maybe a Myvi. haha. Hopefully i can get my driving licence by next year and then off i go roaming the streets.

I was thinkin if any of you are free on this coming Saturday(5th of December), you can come for this cantata(google it if you don't know what cantata is). It is performed by a Singaporean church and our local church(Evangel BP Church), made up by a group of choir and ensemble.

It is gonna be held at FAB(Federal Academy of Ballet) which is in section 14. Its opposite the mosque there i think. If you really wanna come, you don't have to bring anything along, admission is free. Just ask me if you need directions, i should be able to guide you there. =]
Just my li'l piece of advice, it stars at 8pm the sitting places there are quite limited so its better to be early.

so..yeah that's all i wanna say.

@ Shogun, 1Utama.

Amazingly I enjoyed the food in Shogun - Japanese buffet, though i am not a fan of Japanese food. Ask me about sushi, tempura or any other japanese dishes, they're alien to me. But I find their choices of food are quite limited(you may find me wrong), maybe its because i don't know what is nice and i skipped quite a number of main dishes!
Anyway after going for don't know how many rounds of food, my tummy was quite satisfied and i decided not to take anymore.

We then headed to the arcade and we bumped into our school teachers on the way - Cik Sathya, Cik Norliza, Pn Julie and another teacher(they were waiting to watch a movie i guess). After "arcade-ing" we went for bowling and i had 2 strikes in a row =] I enjoyed it but not enough fun. haha

2nd last day of school!
i am happy that i did not regret going to school

din't get to post for a while already...so how's my new layout?
ahh..still getting used to the classroom..new seating places..new timetable..well i just hope that teacher wouldn't change our seating places again..the more she changes the worse it goes..

last week 2 keruing was caught for posting some negative stuff about teachers in their class blog..what about my class blog? i have to admit we did say about teachers too but it wasn't that bad and luckily the teacher didn't find out..

there's another rumour blog again..the last one was removed months ago and now..there goes another one..haiz..why're these people so free? i mean don't they have any better stuff to do?

National Robotics Competition

so here is how it went...
17/6 - Local Competition

the competition has two rounds..they will choose the round that has the higher points.
guess what our team got for the 1st round?
0...seriously, it's zero.
we almost gave up hope because we were over-confident i think..
so after that we planned our strategy well for the 2nd round..
and that got us around 908 points which is 4th place!!

our team got 4th place =)
other DJians in our category got 1st, 7th, 8th, and 9th.
all of our school's lower category teams got into top 10!!
but only the top 5 can go to the next round which is the next day.

After the competition sleptover at Wei Jing's place to improv our robot..we didn't really have much rest for the 2 days..sleeping at 2am and up at 5am..
so you can imagine how tiring it was.

poor juen hong..he looks tired.
we were tired too by the way.

18/6 - Zone Competition

there were 15 teams in our category and we managed to get 10th only..
1st round we got around 980 points but the 2nd round it was worse..
we had problems with our teamwork..all because of juen hong
sometimes we are not happy with his attitude

the results?
for lower category our team got 10th.
the form 1 team got 7th.

for upper category..yi chuen's team got the 1st place
so they can go for the finals in Perlis.

open category..jason's team got 3rd and..
they got the best team spirit award too =)

we went back to school by bus after the competition..
those guys put chili sauce on my hand when i was sleeping :/

the competition was really great..our school did quite well..
we did not have any trainers and we did all by ourselves..
at least we had the experience and we tried our best.

for my team, this is only our first year in DJ's robotics..
we put our effort to try to win and we manage to get achieve something good..
even the robotics teachers know, and asked us to sleep more because we looked really tired..haha =]
